Newsletter
September 2025
Welcome to another Steppingstone newsletter, where a lot has been happening since we last wrote to you. Our network of experts continues to unlock exciting new opportunities for our clients and partners.
Record Breaker
We are thrilled to be helping Richard Noble with the fundraising and sponsorship for his latest world record attempt, ThrustWSH.
Richard is a British entrepreneur who held the Unlimited World Land Speed record between 1983 and 1997.
Richard has now designed, and is currently testing, a high-speed jet hydrofoil, which will attempt to break the world water speed record on Loch Arkaig in early 2028. His efforts are already attracting attention on a global scale, with Netflix actively filming and shaping it into a high-profile documentary.
Over the coming months, we’ll keep you posted on Richard’s project. Let us know if you or your company are interested in partnering with this world record-breaking initiative.
In the Sunday Times
We were pleased to see one of our advisors, Jonathan Bramwell, featured in The Sunday Times, sharing his insights on the growing trend towards American celebs buying in the Cotswolds read article.
Jonathan is one of the country's leading property buying agents, with over 30 years of experience in the prime country house and estate market.
Architecture in the Cotswolds
Following our recent project with SOTA Design, director Ben Twells said the following:
“The three hours I spent with my Steppingstone advisor were the most helpful and insightful I've experienced in the last six years of running my business”.
SOTA formed in 2019 with the mission to "create a new legacy standard for designing the contemporary country house". Their vast majority of work has been in the high end residential sector for high net worth individuals. Specialising in the Cotswolds but having a foot in London means that they are well set up for meeting the needs of their Clients in each location.
A Unique Charity
We have recently started working with the David Yarrow Family Foundation. A wonderful organisation that has donated $15m to charities across the world. David’s philanthropic efforts initially focused on conservation, but now there is an increased focus on health and in particular, paediatric cancer care.
Philanthropy is often at the heart of David's collaborations with iconic subjects, a large percentage of the proceeds from which go back to causes close to David and the collaborator's heart.
David's work is auctioned at charity events on a frequent basis. Over 200 prints of David's work have been sold for Charity - resulting in over $15m being raised since 2018, including $5m for Children's healthcare.
David is honoured to hold a number of ambassadorships for charitable organisations including: The African Community and Conservation Foundation, Tusk, WildArk, The Kevin Richardson Foundation and Best Buddies – one of America’s most established children’s charities.
In 2023, David and his family established the 'David Yarrow Family Foundation' to raise funds for cancer care research and the creative arts in Scotland.
Right to your seat
Thanks to an introduction from Steppingstone, Lord’s has become the first stadium in the world to deploy Waymap, the world’s most accurate navigation technology. The free app (which needs neither wifi or a phone signal) guides spectators to within a metre of their intended destination, including their exact seat.
Marylebone Cricket Club – known the world over as MCC – is setting a new standard in accessibility for sports fans by partnering with Waymap. Today, Lord’s Cricket Ground – the London stadium where MCC is based – becomes the first stadium in the world to implement Waymap technology.
Waymap’s arrival at Lord’s will enhance the matchday experience for blind and disabled visitors, as well as for all fans coming to the Home of Cricket.
Waymap’s highly-accurate personal navigation system now offers step-by-step audio and on-screen instructions to help visitors find their way to seats, amenities and exits at Lord’s.
Stepping Out
One cultural recommendation because life isn’t all about work.
This month’s: James Graham’s play “Punch”
Following sold-out runs at the Nottingham Playhouse and Young Vic, Punch transfers to the West End for a strictly limited 10-week season from 22nd September. Don’t miss your chance to see this critically-acclaimed new play in a ‘powerhouse of a production’ (WhatsOnStage) at the Apollo Theatre.
From Olivier Award-winning writer James Graham (Dear England, This House, BBC’s Sherwood), Punch brings Jacob Dunne’s extraordinary true story to the stage in a gripping, high-energy and deeply moving production directed by Adam Penford.
